The narrow victory of Donald Trump in the US presidential election on 8 November 2016 represents a huge threat to World progress on climate change.

Scientific American, better known for science than for politics, reported:

“President Obama, who invested personal political capital in brokering a landmark global agreement on climate change, would be succeeded by a man who has pledged to cancel it.”

CNN has been showing videos today in which Trump said during his campaign that he would stop the phasing out of coal, which has been moving forward particularly in the USA. Lets all understand: the big problem with coal is that it creates 5 times more greenhouse gases (GHG’s) than does gas!

This gives extra urgency to the Saving Our Planet petition Exit Coal Now. http://savingourplanet.net/index.php/home-2/exitcoalnow/ Please sign this NOW and forward to your contacts.
