A Parallel World

…. No wonder America’s fledgling sustainability movement found fertile ground in the country’s oldest capital. Yet after 45 years since the first Earth Day, the rest of America’s markets have been slow to transition toward a post-carbon economy.

……. Corporate investments in the old technologies keep us stuck in the status quo. Corporate-owned mainstream media functions like an echo chamber, reinforcing the status quo as the only “realistic” option.

….. we believe a market-based approach is the best way to succeed. In other words — create a parallel marketplace to sell a revolutionary lifestyle.

Trust.org
MIGRATION AND Climate Change

The subject of “Migration and Climate Change” was what initially turned me on to Trust.org. Do have a look at these articles, many of them really reporting i.m.o. VERY under-reported stories.

Trust.org is part of Thomson Reuters Foundation.
I came over it because of their section “Under-reported Stories”, which turned out to have very interesting stories related to climate change.
The Trust Principles:
Thomson Reuters is dedicated to upholding the Trust Principles and to preserving its independence, integrity and freedom from bias in the gathering and dissemination of information and news.

The RSS-feed from Trust.org is not exclusively about climate change but covering the work by Trust.org as a whole.

TRUTH-OUT.ORG

What made Truth-out interesting for me was basically a couple of interesting articles posted there, in addition to the fact that they invite outside writers to publish at their site.
From the intro: “Truthout is a small nonprofit organization and unless otherwise stated,”….. “We look for original news stories and news analysis pieces with broad national appeal. We’re especially interested in coverage of issues that slip under the radar of the mainstream media”.
