The Shift Project
The Shift Project (TSP) is a Europe-wide think tank, or rather ‘action tank’. Its mission is to act as a proactive source of proposals which focus primarily on the resources required to make the shift to an economy free of dependency on fossil fuels (and therefore of greenhouse gas emissions). Operating at the point where the academic world meets the corporate world, society and government institutions, our think tank is committed to bringing forward operational measures that seek to answer not only the question of ‘why?’, but also the question of ‘how?’.
Sauvons le Climat (SLC) (French)
Nous appelons nos concitoyens et nos dirigeants à engager une politique volontariste et décidée, à la fois d’économies d’énergie et de développement de l’énergie nucléaire et des énergies renouvelables. Global Climate Jobs
We have to stop climate change, and we have to do it quickly. To do it, we will need 150 million new jobs globally for at least twenty years. There are now campaigns in several countries fighting for mass government programs for climate jobs. Most of them started with union support, and all of them are trying to build an alliance of unions, environmentalists, ngos, and faith groups.

What made Truth-out interesting for me was basically a couple of interesting articles posted there, in addition to the fact that they invite outside writers to publish at their site.
From the intro: “Truthout is a small nonprofit organization and unless otherwise stated,”….. “We look for original news stories and news analysis pieces with broad national appeal. We’re especially interested in coverage of issues that slip under the radar of the mainstream media”.
With 196 Parties, the UNITED NATIONS FRAMEWORK CONVENTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE (UNFCCC) has near universal membership and is the parent treaty of the 1997 Kyoto Protocol. The Kyoto Protocol has been ratified by 192 of the UNFCCC Parties.
The ultimate objective of both treaties is to stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that will prevent dangerous human interference with the climate system.
Stories on the Newsroom are written by UNFCCC staff. The publisher of the website is Nick Nuttall, Spokesperson and Coordinator Communications and Outreach.

Explaining climate change science & rebutting global warming misinformation
Scientific skepticism is healthy. Scientists should always challenge themselves to improve their understanding. Yet this isn’t what happens with climate change denial. ……This website gets skeptical about global warming skepticism. Do their arguments have any scientific basis? What does the peer reviewed scientific literature say
The mission of Sustainable Human is to assist in changing the story of the world. By our ally, Margaret Klein Salomon:
The Climate Mobilization is a new, volunteer-powered organization. Our mission is to protect civilization and the natural world from catastrophic climate disruption. We are dedicated to living in climate truth, and believe that working to solve the climate crisis is everyone’s responsibility…..
In that sense, The Climate Mobilization is a single-issue campaign. We demand a WWII-scale mobilization to restore a safe climate.

Our mission is to catalyze a global solution to the climate crisis by making urgent action a necessity across every level of society.

We can create a healthy, sustainable, and prosperous future by making a planet-wide shift from dirty fossil fuels to clean, reliable, and affordable renewable energy.

The Transition network
FROM THEIR VISION:
When we use the term “Transition” we’re talking about the changes we need to make to get to a low-carbon, socially-just, healthier and happier future, which is more enriching and more gentle on the earth than the way most of us live today.
In our vision of the future, people work together to find ways to live with a lot less reliance on fossil fuels and on over-exploitation of other planetary resources, much reduced carbon emissions, improved wellbeing for all and stronger local economies. The Transition movement is an ongoing social experiment, in which communities learn from each other and are part of a global and historic push towards a better future for ourselves, for future generations and for the planet.
They describe themselves as:
-committed to accuracy
